| About Us:Personal: Steven E. Rice has been conducting environmental inspections for more than 33 years. A native Lexingtonian, he graduated with honors in 1973 from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. degree in Environmental Management. After a 24 year public service career as Health Environmentalist with the Lexington Health Department, he founded Steven E. Rice Environmental Inspections in 2001 to continue assisting property owners identify and resolve indoor environmental hazards. Business Model: Steven E. Rice limits his practice to the five environmental disciplines of Mold, Radon, Asbestos, Lead-based Paint, and Indoor Air Quality. This has allowed him to become a recognized expert in these fields. However to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, he does not implement and profit from the implementation of any corrective measures he recommends. This limitation assures his clients that he is representing only their best interest, not some future profit motive. Except where Kentucky regulations require workers to be certified, he is glad to guide the client in implementing the corrective measures themselves or to guide the contractors that the client selects.
